"Raise a Reader" Presentation for Parents of children aged 4 to 9 years - Tuesday, November 5th

Please come to a one hour presentation for parents of children aged 4 to 9 years old to find out how children learn to read and how parents can help at home.


School District 64 is partnering with Fernwood Elementary, your Fernwood PAC and Salt Spring Literacy to offer this free event.


Included is a pizza dinner along with child care (provided in the ELF room by Early Childhood Educator, Mundy Henbrey). 


Presenters will include Janet Hoag (Early Learning), Stella Weinert (SS Literacy Outreach Coordinator & former SD64 Teacher), and Kelda Logan (Principal, Fernwood Elementary).


When: Tuesday, November 5th

5:00 pm Pizza

5:30-6:30 pm Presentation

Location: Fernwood Elementary School



“Pre-registration” is necessary if you plan to have the dinner and/or childminding. Otherwise you do not need to register. “Pre-registration” consists of simply emailing or phoning Leah at  250-537-9332 (leave a message) to state how many will be eating pizza and/or how many children you will need childminding for.

(Please note that as of Thursday, October 31, childminding and dinner spots are full, however, please do not hesitate to come to the presentation itself for parents that will be held in the Library from 5:30 to 6:30 pm (no longer any registration necessary).
