Subject: Galiano Community School Playground

The following message has been sent on behalf of Dave Howe, Southern Gulf Islands Electoral Area Director.

Dear colleagues and staff,

Thanks to the hard work of the community, the Galiano Community School has been selected as one of ten finalists in the BCAA Play Here competition for a chance to win one of three prizes of $100,000 to build a new playground.

Galiano Community School has the oldest playground in the Gulf Islands School District and has won an exciting opportunity to compete with ten other much larger towns for three new $100,000 playgrounds. Without this funding, Galiano kids risk losing their aging playground without any means for a replacement.

Galiano is calling out to Capital Region communities to rally together to help bring its voting numbers up. Voting is easy and I'm hoping everyone will take 1 minute every day until June 18 to vote.

This playground is part of the vibrant community hub that the CRD is helping to fund with Galiano's first licensed daycare opening this fall, along with the library and fitness centre.

Please join me in showing your support and voting every day until June 18. Visit for instructions and to sign up for daily voting reminders.

By using Facebook, Twitter, Email AND Google you can vote up to four times every day.

You can also help by sharing the website link on social media and by encouraging friends and family members to vote daily.
