In the Fall, many of you may remember that we announced Fernwood School had been "adopted" by Indigo Books for an initiative called "Adopt a School" .   If you go to https://adoptaschool.indigo.ca/eng/schools/1658  you will see Kelda's statement when she applied for our Library to be adopted last year.  In addition to their  "Indigo Spirit Team" located in the lower mainland that was dedicated to our school, we also saw that parents and students at Fernwood logged in to share their reading stories or to donate and we wanted to say "Thank You"!  

Our goal was 205 books at the time (one for each student) and in the end we will be receiving the equivalent of 308 (in a dollar value ~ we have been advised that we can purchase $3375.78 in books). Buying new books for a library can be expensive and this is amazing news! Janice Parker, our Teacher Librarian, will be buying some amazing new books for Teachers and students very soon and again Thank You to Indigo books and everyone who supported this cause!
