Garden Work Party!

Hello Fernwood Families!

The school is seeking extra hands on Friday, March. 3 to get the garden ready for another fantastic growing season. Last year the kids sowed turnips, radishes, lettuce, peas, carrots, garlic, sunflowers, pumpkins and more. This year the garden and greenhouse will give life to more vegetables, flowers, and hopefully some fruit bearing perennials!

But first! We need your help to do some much needed cleanup of the greenhouse, garden and shed. We will be having a family-friendly work party Friday, March 3rd from 9am - 12pm. Light snacks and drinks will be provided! RSVPs appreciated but not required.

Tasks will include:
- clearing out last year's beds
- turning in compost and manure
- repairing a few garden beds
- decluttering and cleaning the garden shed
- clearing out the greenhouse

Ms. Erika is also looking for a parent or two to partner with in overseeing the garden this growing season.

If you have any questions about the work party, OR tools (fan rakes, metal rakes, small spades) or manure n' compost to donate, please contact Ms. Erika at
