Families Understanding Early Learning (FUEL) Parents of students in Kindergarten to Grade 3 are invited to participate in a free parent education series over five Wednesday evenings starting October 21, from 5-7 pm at Fulford School. These enriching evenings will include a light dinner, interesting presentations and engaging discussions on various topics related to early learning. Local experts will cover the importance of movement in brain development, social emotional learning and self-regulation, ways to support your child in early literacy and math skills and an introduction to sexual health for young children. Pre-registration is necessary so that we can prepare for dinner and childcare. If you are interested in participating in this workshop series, please email Vivienne: vchallandes@sd64.bc.ca or call Fulford School to register: 653-9223. Let us know if you need childcare, and the ages of your children attending. An experienced Early Childhood Educator and volunteers will provide childcare in the ELF room. We are very pleased to be able to offer this series sponsored by Salt Spring Literacy and School District 64 to the SD64 parent community and we hope your family will take advantage of this great opportunity for learning together! Note: At this point, this series is only for SD64 families. Next week we will open it up to other SSI families via the SS Exchange, if necessary. |
