Our school is participating in the 2018 Walk & Wheel to School Week. We will be celebrating active travel all week and in particular on Monday, October 1st, Jenny Redpath, Public Health Nurse from our Salt Spring Island Health Unit, will be here to greet all students first thing in the morning. Students who walk or wheel (take the bus vs arrive in a car) will get a sticker (that's many of you!) to put on our school trip tracking poster. She’ll have a fun spinning wheel with prizes and also some games.  Jenny will go to our Whole School Meeting as well a speak briefly about healthy active living.

We would like to show off our active travelling!

Here are some ways to get involved:

-participate in walking to school, taking the bus or riding a bike the week of October 1-4th

-if driving, the CRD initiative has an idea called “drive to Five” – look for a convenient parking location with a safe 5 minute walking route to the school ("it’s good exercise and helps reduce traffic congestion").
