ROE teaches students about feelings, their own feelings and the feelings of others. Once a month, Baby Drew is the Teacher! Students in Ms. Curtis's class sit around a green blanket on the floor and watch Drew guided by a certified ROE Instructor and notice how the she grows and changes each month. Students learn how Drew tells her parents what he or she wants, how parents learn what the baby is feeling and what she needs. Research on the Roots of Empathy program has shown that children who have had the program know more about emotions and feelings, are kinder to their friends, and behave less aggressively toward others.
